RE: G35 vs 05/06 MGT???
this must just be a total coincedence, but I had a G35 TODAY on the way to work attempt to futts with me....
He was on may *** in traffic then at a light he got behind me and revved his engine...
maybe he thought he was fast because I heard the dual fart-cans popping. So I sped up a little from that light to let him get next to me at the next light.
Light turned green and off we went. Right off the line before the other end of the intersection I was already a 1/2 length ahead, I slammed into second and pulled away like he was on a tricycle. I let off before 3rd b/c I was going too fast, but at the next light he wouldn't even look at me...
Moral: unless he's got some stuff done, the G35 is nothing to worry about, and the 350z, unless they've got the anniversary edition, is also not too much to be concerned with. (we're obviously talking stock for stock here)
Enjoy.

RE: G35 vs 05/06 MGT???
I havent been keeping up with the g35s of late, but I like the point that the g35 is a stuck up 350z. While I havent had the pleasure of racing a g35, the 350z only just outruns the stock 99-04 GT. You 05+ guys should have no problem.
EDIT: Just did a little lookin, the newer 350s (i realize this isnt the original topic) have 300 hp and actually the introductory coup is the lightest by about 100 lbs (i guess maybe the anniversary and track editions have some better suspension, because they all have 300/274). The new infinities have 277/274, but actually weigh in at 3512. I dont see that as being any kind of a threat to the new mustang. Maybe those mustangs they raced didnt know they were racin .

14.1 @ 100 in a stock auto G35???
I don't think so!
I think you made a typo there or he's lying through his teeth.
That would be an 05/06 MANUAL G35's time...and even then
still a pretty good one!

I don't know, he has plenty of time slips and they are all 14.1 to 14.3s. He has spray now but with the 100 shot he claims to have, that would make it quicker than low 14s.
The power output was upped for '05. The manuals are rated 298hp and the autos 280. The older ones were 280 manual, 268 automatic.
