I would look in to getting... a exhaust, cold air intake, tuner, gears, short throw shifterand the list could go on.
It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend.

Before you start throwing the parts catalogue at the car, decide what you are going to do with the car first.
The mach respondes very well to bolt-ons. Especially exhaust, and the cai's.
I did the following to mine which is a D/D and not a track car right now at all.
1.) 4.10 gears
2.) Stainless Steel Systems converter back ( I was one of the developers of the system)
3.) Catted x-pipe of unknown origin (got it free from a friend)
4.) Short throw shifter
5.) KN Cai (horse traded some old slicks for it)
6.) PHP Intake spacer (friend gave it to me when he bought his fr500 intake)
7.) Eibach Pro-kit
8.) Wheel Replicas Magnum 500's (18x9's...I work there part time)
9.) welded subframe connectors.
Now, in the future I would like to go ahead and build the rear end up so I can go to the track occassionally and not look back.
I will probably find an aluminum D/S in there eventually
I would like to go with long tubes and a tune, but that will have to wait until the car is paid off.
Basically I have a car that is a lot of funto drive, makes good noises, and is plenty fast for what I need.
The most noticeable changes were the exhaust and CAI..and of course the gears...

So what gears/exhaust is recommended for the mach? Someone on another site said 4.10's for gears, but I have not much experience with exhuast and what it all means..

Mach's LOVE to breath. Having a clean breathing Mach = a happy, peppy Mach.
Now here's what I would do:
Catback - Midpipe - LTs
JLT intake (ram air or cold air, which ever) ... the tubing is 4" which is bigger than the otehr companies.
Throttle body
Intake spacer
**Get all this done and make sure you get a tune because no your car is breathing in alot more air than the stock tune was set for. This will ensure you get the BEST results from these mods.
That's what I'd do first.
