Drag Times
I put my 04 Mach on the track for the first time tonight. Basically a stock 5spd other than a drop in KN and a cat-back with secondary cats removed. Anyway, the best I could pull off was a 13.69@103x with a 2.0 60ft. Is this inline with you stock guys? I left at 2500 to 3000rpms. I was hoping for a low 13, but it wasn't happening for me. It would either bog or spin. My other question is, what kinda improvement with quarter mile timehave 4:10s made for you guys?

those are thearound the same times i have see pro drivers drive a stock one.. but thier pro so no biggie.... neways try around 2700-2800rpms and that is prob the best take off time your gonna get from the info you told. And the addition of 4:10's will make a big difference in the 1/4 mile times you should be real low 13's

Thanks, I'll trythat RPM range and definetly swap gears/tires too.I just got the Mach, so I'm still learning it. I mostly run my 98 Z28 Auto, so it's a whole different game nowconsidering they are completly different machines.

by best stock time with actually the exact same mods as you (even the rear 2 cats removed lol) was 13.6 @ 103.5 lol...so I'd say thats pretty inline with normal. 4.10s should drop you about .2-.3 in the quarter.

RE: Drag Times
Drag Radials & 4.10's should cut off more than .2 or .3 in the quarter mile I would think.
Figure he is only pulling a 2.0 60', and it was probalby one of his first trips to the track.
I'll bet that with a few more trips, you can bring your times down to around a 13.4 with the same mods....
Add on some DR's, 4.10's, and a 60' time in the 1.8* and youre going 13.1's.

RE: Drag Times
It was a warm, humid evening when I ran it and it was my first trip to the track (with this car). I think on a cooler night, and with practice, Imay be able to knock another .2 off. I know DRs are good for a couple tenths by themselves, so with gears I'm thinking 13.1 or slower under the same conditions, and faster on a cooler night. I can't get over how these cars like to rev. I am crossing the quarter mile in 3rd at 105mph at about 6700rpms...soI'm guessing4:10s will have it in the bottom of fourth gear at the end of the quarter?

Basically, you have a low 13 sec car from the factory even if those times are with great drivers. DR's/tires will put a great driver of your car into the 12.7 range, but you may drive it to a 13.1-13.3 until you master your driving technique. Good luck!

I made a second trip to the track last nite with the addition of a FM cat-back,UPR o/r/x-pipe, and a MGW shifter. I dropped down to 13.44 at 105mph. Same 60ft. time. I think the X-Pipe helped alot with the extra 1.5mph trap speed. The extra practice probably didn't hurt the ET improvement either. I ordered 4:10s today and will hopefully have them in before thenext track night, so I'll let ya'll know what they do for me.
