Default How much RWHP will bone-stock internals on the 4v 4.6 take?

I've heard several answers on this one, but would like some second opinions. I just added a stage 2 inter-cooled procharger kit, and am wondering how far i can push the internals before I need to get forged rod/rings? I've heard anywhere between 475 to 525 RWHP they snap, so is this a car to car thing? Or should I just plan on gettingforged before I push past the 449 RWHP I'm pushing right now? Let me know what you guys think..

The most common number is 450rwhp. I would keep it under 400rwhp until you forge it.

Hmmmm... Probably a good idea, though my dad's going to be the only one driving the car while I'm deployed and I really don't think he'll be pushing it hard enough to break anything. Getting the forged rods/rings is definitely my next project when I can afford it. That along with a new pulley set and a better fuel pump/injectors.. 450 seems to be what I'm hearing a lot of, as that's what the guys at DTP tuning in VA Beach said when I had the work done on the car..

The weakest link is the rods. 5 speed Machs already have a forged crank so you just have to buy the rest.

I agree, the guys at DTP in VA Beach said the stock crank would be good to about 800 RWHP, which is more than I'd put in the car anyway I think. Barring me winnning the lottery and actually being able to afford another car so I can do some real track work with this one. lol

450rwhp is the most common number, but the tune is whats key at that point. unders 400rwhp might be a little low, safely and most reliable is about 430rwhp.

I 2nd that. I believe that any boosted car should have forged internals and a great tune, that combo will be reliable for several years to come.A guy I know claims to have 50K miles on his internally forged procharged 2003 manual mach and thats 40K since the upgrades. He pounds the crap out of that car and just changes fluids on a regular basis, but he rechecks his tune every 6-8 months for safe keeping. He's also running about 500rwhp and claims heonly had to replace the transmissions clutch/flywheel. Pretty awesome if I must say so.

That's probably true.. I'd have to agree with USMCrebel though, below 400 sounds a little low.. The only driving that's going to be done on the car while I'm gone is just the usual around the block a few times once or twice a week to keep things moving so it doesn't sit there and rot while I'm deployed. Steeda actually has some pretty good deals for forged internals on the 4.6, so I might end up going with them. Have any other ideas on who might have the best quality for the buck on rods/rings? The crank is the same forged crank that's in the 03/04 cobra so I shouldn't have to worry about that for the time being..
