Good heavens! [&:]Not that I know of.

I'd call Dallas Mustangs or Texas Hotrods in El Paso. If anyone has done it, they may have. Or may know of someone. But sheesh, that would be a Jay Oh Bee no matter how you slice it. And VERY cool!

Well actually I am going to do it myself. Myself, and a friend, but thanks anyway. You see I cracked the block on my 03 Mach 1, and it warped the heads, and i'm gonna do a rebuild now. I have the rebuild kit I ordered from summit, but I was thinking of rebuilding that, selling it, and doing a 460 or 351 conversion. My buddy is really good with this so he suggested to bypassing the computers, and converting to carbureted. I recently sold my 04 f350 6.0 diesel for $17750 to a guy in California who has a totalled 04 sitting in his yard that he could use for extra parts. My best friend handed me over the papers for his 00 f350 7.3 diesel. Needless to say I came away with the 17+ grand, and may be receiving a $135000 inheritance this year. It's gonna take time if we do a 351 or 460 conversion. I'm hoping to have this by the week of april 14th when I put the motor in the back of my truck, and drive from Jersey to California that week. The Mach 1 is parked at my best friends house in his garage in California with the motor taken out of it. I don't have much time to decide. Tough one.

Hrrmm.. have to admit that's a tough choice.. still very cool though that you've got the green to pull something like that off.. lol I'm jealous.. I'm sure pounder will probably correct me, but if you're going to do that kind of a swap, why not check with some specialty shops and see if you can get ahold of a 427 side oiler? Might be a pretty penny for the block, but for carbuerated engines, in my opinion it's one of the best engine's ford ever made. THAT would be kick *** though, an 03 Mach with a 427 under the hood.. hehe.. just the thought of it gives me a chubby.. LOL.. If not that I'd go with the 460.. Go Big or Go Home!! LOL That's just me though..

I didn't even know Ford made a 427. The time is the main dilema here, not the cash. I had a 351C in the 73 Mach 1 I had years ago. Such a powerhouse. I also had a 460 in a 73 f350 I had. It was so hard to kill it. No excessive oil burning even at high mileage. I would have loved to see what that thing would do under the hood of a pony car.

Maybe not a daily driver, but a few days a week driver. My 93 5.0 LX is my daily as of now, but my Mach 1 is off the road. I use the f350 a lot, but I use it for side jobs, and the like as well. My mach was a car I used every other day usually or at least 3 days a week. I have modded daily drivers haha. My partner at work who once had a 90 5.0 LX doesn't understand why I put the 4;30s or the turbos, or any of that. Haha.

I'd have to agree that the 460 is definitely a hard engine to break.. All depends on what you want.. Here's what the wiki said about the 427 Cammer..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_FE...C_.22Cammer.22

Yeahhhh, I know, shameless 427 plug.. lol For me it'd be either that or the 428 SCJ, but the SCJ's are exceedingly rare and very expensive, at least from what I've seen anyhow.

Practically though, the 460 would be a good choice I think..

for driveability sakes i would go with a 351w stroke it to a 408 and throw a TT setup on it, that way you can still drive it, and it can still be EFI and make gobs of power, but if you want power beyond reason and torque to die for. take the 460 (good to 1k-1.2k hp maybe more) and stroke it to a 557, and your looking at 700rwhp or more....more than enough to make a new z06 look and laugh and then cry.
