For dust on the exterior I found the california duster to be brilliant - I had a black GT and it worked wonders on that. It only works on dry dust/dirt however, if it is wet dirt or water spots it will need the hose.

As far as keeping the engine clean I would love some tips also

Hmm, if there is a localized place where the grime tends to land - like on the panels behind the wheels maybe you could use that 3M invisible bra material? I have never seen it myself and am not sure of the shape but it would be worth a look.

The california duster (http://calcarduster.com/ - the one I have is the one with the 70's pornstar looking guy using it) looks like a mop and the threads are kind of waxy - you just slide it over the surface of the car and it picks up any loose dust or dirt - you can do the whole car in about 1 minute - iy really helps space out the wet washes. I have no idea how it works - it never has to be cleaned and it works better the dirtier it gets - wierd. They are available in Sears and walmart for about $20 - if you can't get one where you are let me know and I help you out.

spray some pledge cleaner on the bumper behind the tires when you go to the track. When you leave everything will wipe right off cause the pledge is a oily substance.

I was reading in M1R and apparently it doesn't. Just whipe off with soap and water afterwards.
