I've heard about this kind of problem. I believe it has something to do with the syncros. A lot of Mustangs have this problem it seems.

Try changing your tranny fluid and putting only 3.2 quarts in. If that doesn't help then your tranny is probably past that point and needs new synchros.

+1 to the syncros.
Do you power shift alot? could be a messed up fork too.

this sounds dumb but make sure your seat is up far enough and you hold the clutch in long enough. I was having the same problem at the track and i moved my seat up an inch or 2 and problem solved.

+1 on the syncros. +1 on changing your tranny fluid
Did you buy this car new or used?
If used the previous owner drove that car hard.
Perfect opportunity to upgrade your tranny to a T-56
Good luck!!!

Mine is starting to make noises upon hard shifts. Sounds like a slight grinding/crunching sound.

Yorp.. I would say it's definitely a synchro, as my 3650 did the same thing when I still had it. I would look into getting a new synchro kit, before you shear the teeth off of the gears brudda. And yes, I meant to say yorp.. I'm in a screwy mood today.. lol
