Default Going to the track on DR's tonight

In a few hours I will be heading up to the local 1/4 mile. I used to race my GT there all the time, but I haven't been up much this year. I will be on Nitto's and this is my first time actually heating a tire. I plan on doing a good 2nd gear burnout to get them hot but then there is the launch...

What RPM do you guys find it the sweet spot on DR's?

On street tires in the GT, I always feathered the clutch out around 1600RPM and then just pinned it once I got going. Do you guys think that I will be able to launch up around 2500 or so? I am looking to get a 2.0 60' at least.

jmac, im launching @4k rpms on street tires averaging a 2.04 60ft, so after you heat em, try fleathing the clutch out at like 3k rpms and you know the rest.

Yup, I know the rest. I guess I just need some reassurance haha. What estimated ET would a 2.0 60' pull? I will be in 65-70* weather. I For power mods, all I have is a o/r midpipe and a catback.

I haven't been able to make it to the track with mine but two guys I know that have machs with DRs say that the sweet spot is dumping the clutch from 4-4.5k with the tires nice and hot, if your track is nice and prepped maybe a little higher.

Well I ran a 13.5 @ 109.11. I had a 60' of 2.076. I am very content with my trap speed. I know that I can definitely do better on my ET, but I just need some more practice launching on the DR's. They are ridiculously sticky compared to anything that I have ever been on before. I don't think that my H&R SS springs and Bilstein HD shocks/struts are helping my drag racing much either. I am more for a fun street car though.

I had a bunch of other mid to high 13's. I missed 3rd a couple times and got a 14.1 and 14.0 off of the missed gear. Overall it was a very fun night though

what are your mods, other than the radials? i've seen mach's with full exhaust and intake run 13.1 and 13.2 on street tires.

good runs tho since it was your first time on those radials. always takes a bit to get used to new setups.

My only other mods power wise is a midpipe. My suspension is for corners rather than drags.
