just got mach 1
i just bought an 04 auto mach 1, it has 7k miles and now im looking to buy mid pipes. The problem is idk which one to buy, i'd like to know the difference between the x pipe and h pipe and would want to know what one would be better for the mach 1 or what u would prefer?

RE: just got mach 1
X pipes will give u more hp then a h pipe but sound a little raspy. The h pipe retains more torque. I got a Mac 0/r h pipe for mine. I like it lot. I’m glad I didn’t go with the x pipe. Another good thing about the Mac h pipe is that its a 3 piece design, so if u get headers you do not need to purchase a different mid pipe.

X=nascar and h=muscle car sound. The x supposedly flows better, but the H sounds better and is deeper. It comes down to your preference and you could fing a few machs that have either one and see which sound u like better. Ive always ran x's on my stangs and like the sound of them, but an h would do just fine as well.

the brand really doesn't make a difference in HP it just whatever one MAC is good on the price for H's and Pypes is great on price for the X's
anything to reduce back pressure will increase performance and exhaust WILL NOT hurt MPG's it'll help some, but not enough to make a diffrence maybe 1mpg out of it.
