my mach is f'ed up
i hit second gear and heard the motor change sounds. i didnt know what it was, but it sort of sounded like a ricer hitting vtec or soemthing at the time. i got out of it and the motor was rocking and by the time i got down to a speed that i could hear over the wind i knew i was screwed. it had a really bad bottom end clacking, and we checked the oil and there is definitely metal in it. pretty sure its a bearing. this sucks. what are my best options right now? i think im goin to buy a new crank, and hopefully only 1 new rod, and replace all the bearings. i dont want to spend a fortune, let me know what you think...

hope you're doing the work yourself, otherwise your gonna be paying a SH!tload in labor, you have to tear it down to the block anyway, you can get a Forged Rotating assembly for, i don't wanna say cheap but compared to the labor cost... cheap, if you're already there, theres no point in not forging it, and you will have much less to worry about throughout the years.

average prices in my area are 500 to pull the motor, 500 to reinstall, plus you're going to need some machine work most likely from the broken parts screwing things up on the cylinder walls. If the walls are really messed up then you're going to need .020 bored meaning replace all the pistons and rods anyways. I paid a little over 600 for JE pistons, and about $530 for manley rods.
