Anyway to check tune?

Anyway to check tune?
Is there anyway to check if your car has a tune on it? I just bought a 03 mach and want to know if the tune is factory or not (I think not). I have an unlocked SCT X2 tuner, can that tell me anything?

Try to use your tuner and see what it tells you! Wouldn't make sense for someone to have left a tune in your car as that would render that tuner useless. Per Mustang3GT07's question though, what makes you think it's not the factory tune?

I know it ran nitrous and it still has a C&L CAI. Not sure if the Machs require a tune for this like my 2006. I don't know what size shot was being run however. I am assuming with a high compression engine, you would have to adjust timing at least and probably fuel trims too.

Have I tried what with it? I can plug it in and it works.
It gives me the Strategy for the car. What exactly is the strategy? Will this tell me if the car has a tune different from factory? I just want to know more for curiosity than anything else.

The tuner has to store the factory tune before the SCT tune can be used. If it does that, the car doesn't currently have a non-factory tune in it. Call SCT about the "strategy", I haven't the slightest.

I dunno how the tuners differ the factory tune from an aftermarket tune, that's a great question though. Wish I could help you more on that but I ain't exactly the gurru. Maybe present to us some of the settings your tuner is telling you that may seem out of the norm. But like I said before, a tuner is useless if it's tune is left in the car. That means if someone left the tune in the car they would've thought four or five hundred bucks was a loaf of bread. I'm not a betting man b/c I ain't got no loot, but I'd say you're on the factory settings. Wish I could help ya more, I'm trying though. Just let us know if something funny jumps out at ya that would lead you to believe the car is running on non-factory settings.

Thanks for the thoughts. I know the tuner would be useless, but you never know what people would do.
Again, I am more familiar with s197s, but don't the sn95s require tuning to run a CAI? The S197s won't run with most aftermarket CAIs. The car is running great, but seems to not have a lot of top end power compared to my 2006.
