I believe I read somewhere that you can actually raise the hood scoop higher, but I would be carefull because you wouldn't want it too high thus causing damage to your hood/mounting bracket at high speeds. Not really sure if it will help with more air going towards the filter.

I've not heard anything about raising the 'hood scoop'. The machs only have the shakers. I've raised my shaker with some washers, and that's about it

Also, if you haven't already done so, the snorkel can be removed from your air filter housing.

-The factory screen in the stock Mass Air Meter can be removed to allow a better flow(do this at your own risk though).

-The factory Throttle cable is way too long and you can add a spacer to take up the space or (I know this isn't free) pay 3.00 to get a throttle cable adapter and bolt it to the cable to take up slack. This usually requires to snip the very end of the cable ( the stock crimped piece). I would suggest soldering to prevent unraveling of the cable prior to installing the throttle stop. You will notice a lot better acceleration at WOT. In doing this, it is possible to take up so much slack that you will bottom out at the TB. This will result in a possible stretched cable or bending the sheet metal of the gas petal assy. I do see some racers weld a nut and bolt (to adjust the max petal travel) to the floor just underneath the gas petal to prevent this. You know how some of these mustang guys like to slam on the gas.

The only other free performance mod is reducing weight. It just depends on how you want your car to look and what you're comfortable about removing without having the inside look like a nascar race car( showing all sheetmetal).
