Question Valve covers....

So this question may very well make me look like an idiot but it is really bothering me... why do some Machs have black valve covers and others have the natural finish? I see it as about 50 50 black to natural and I figured someone on here would have an answer haha

And has any one powder coated their valve covers because I want the blue ones but dont want to pay the 250 for them

Lots of people have their VC powder coated. It should cost any more than $50-75 for PC. I don't know the differences cor black vs. plain. but I'm sure someone will chime in.

The 2003 Mach 1 has black valve covers.
The 2004 Mach 1 has the unfinished valve covers.

I have the unfinished ones and they are impossible to clean so I think I will go with the powder coating as well - if anyone has experience with this I would love to hear it!
Thanks

Default valve covers

My friend powered coated his covers and they came out great. He has a 07 GT. Cost about $100.00 for the power coat and $25.00 toi boil out and clean.

I powdercoated mine, its only 50.

Warning..... it is INCREDIBLY difficult to Remove and Re-install these, the passenger side comes out pretty simple, but the motor had to come off the k-memebr, then slide to the side to get the drivers side one to clear the brake system. I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN UNLESS THE MOTOR IS OUT OF THE CAR. its pretty easy on a 2v, just a PITA on the 4v's

Crikey - that does sound like a real pain to get it out. I guess I will wait till I am doing a few things together and get it done then.

I am not sure if you were asking me but anyway, I am in San Diego
