Default Ran the car today

So i shouldnt even post this since its pretty horrible... anyways ran the car today for the first time. it was 50 degrees. only got a few passes in. was mad busy. first pass... 2.31 60', 14.18 at 106. second pass... 2.47 60' (yeah i know). 13.95 at 106.5.. this pass i spun through first and second.. both runs i walked it out of the hole. and as soon as i hit 3000ish rpms tires spun. shifted second spun again right through until 3rd.. i couldnt hook at all.. i literally rolled onto it out of the hole. i didnt do a big burn out. i dumped the clutch let the tires spin for about 10' then clutched in. my friend who had a fox and street tires did the same thing. we left together but as soon as id reach 3000ish rpms id spin n he wouldnt.. he ended up running a 12.92 at 107 and has 245 radials out back.. i have 315's.. any one got any ideas?..3rd run was a mess. i tryed to roll onto the gas in 1st didnt even put it to the floor when i shifter into second n still spun. only thing i can think besides that fact that i suck is maybe i needed to do push the break and do a standing burnout. was told on radials u just need to clean them off but it wasnt working for me..

Sounds like a ****ty track, but on a more positive note, you've got great weather so with some practice or M/T drag radials it'll hook much better.

agree w/ darkmach, sounds like an unprepped track. Though IMO if you race on the same track enough then adjustments can be made. Just keep at it, have fun with it and don't get discouraged. You need to remember it ain't an easy task hooking up 300ish rwhp on street tires and 4.10s. Don't know about others, but doing the following helped me...no lengthy burnout needed, just drop the clutch in 1st w/o footbraking and let them roast for a second or two. Roll the clutch @ 2500 the tires let loose start spin out of the hole, don't shift into 2nd. Let off the gas to let them hook up again then get back into it. If the track's not rubbered and sprayed then almost nothing will yield a solid pass and DRs are the only hope, but I do find some pleasure in having to really work for a good pass. Keep at it man, and have fun bangin them gears.

One more thing, make sure you're lining up in the grooves.

when i ran my car in similar temp i could only muster a 13.7 and seemed to come out of the hole the same as u. after they preped the track and i droped my rear tire air psi to 20 i riped of a 13.5 and then hot laped a 13.3 for my a good 2nd gear drop clutch burn out was best and i finally got a 2.1 60' witch isint great but was my best to that point. running stock wheels

so id say the track tire pressure and no burn out was ur down fall

I vote: the track sucks! You were right, dont do a burn out with streat radials, makes them slippery lol. Those times are horrible! stock Machs are supposed to run low 13's right? MM&FF ran a 13.13 at 105 mph in a factory stock Mach 1.

Thanks for the feedback. Ive been driving the car out in the country and trying different things. When it gets cold out my tires become horrible. Im going to the track tomorrow morning and im going to try doing a break burnout... no break burnout.. rolling onto it.. slammin it to the floor lol.. try whatever i can and hope for the best.. id like to see a low 13 but ill settle for a 13.5 lol.. wish me luck !
