Default IAC Mod

I did a search, but could not find anything on this in our forum.

I did the IAC mod on my 2000 GT to get the rpm's down quicker.

Is there any reason not to do this to my 03 Mach?

On M1R there's a guy selling the IAC restrictors, and they seem pretty popular.

I haven't heard of the IAC mod so there's a chance others have not as well. I'd be willing to scrounge up any info or atleast give an opinion if you'd be so kind to describe what it is.

You can do it on the Mach just like you did with the GT. I had it done on both my GT and my Mach. I personally do not like the way the car drives after but it does sound better on decel.

Here's one thread on the subject on mach1registry.

http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...hlight=iac+mod

There are numerous others, including someone selling the plates.

Seems to work pretty well. I dont guess it makes a whole lot of difference with performance though.

What seems different about the way the car drives?

It engines brakes much harder and I like the slower RPM drop.

I did the modification to my car and I'm quite happy with it. It's been on for about 20k miles. Rpm's no longer hang when pushing in the clutch and the deceleration (engine braking) with the throttle closed is much better. You can play around with the hole size to get the response you're looking for.
