Drag racing/clutch question
Good news is I beat my best time again w/ 5 passes between 12.30 and 12.38. Bad news is that I'm starting to smell the clutch. My launches are pretty hard on it as I'm rolling the clutch off the line to keep the rpm up. No current drop in performance as short times weren't the best, but were 1.70-1.74 and no slippage during shifts. Just wondering how many more trips to the track I can expect the stock clutch to last. I have a Spec 2+ clutch (w/ new FRPP TOB) waiting to go in but just wondering if I even need to worry about it. Thx.

Man you go to the track a lot, car must be pretty solid! Every time I stab it in mine I feel like I'm hurting it lol. Mine needs a clutch too and I don't even race... Makes me wonder how the other 3 owners drove her lol.

I go more at the beginning/end of season when the conditions are good. Car is solid....so far. I'm running her hard, just not abusing her...axles, trannys and such are more than I can put $ to. I'm sure atleast one of the 3 who owned your car had some fun with her. Have you done your clutch adjustment as described in your manual or is it really shot?

the only thing about clutches is they burn up for a reason... i would rather see you pay for 3 clutches than 1 tranny. when the clutch slips it's absorbing some of the shock to the trans and everything else, so thats a good thing.
