Brake calipers: Should I paint?
#11
PAINT THE CALIPERS... It will not flake off if you do it correctly.. Sand it down to scuff it all up, wipe it off and clean it, and apply a couple coats of paint. I am a BIG advocate of simple spray canning it, but brush on works well if you would rather that...
Eventually it may flake off due to rocks getting kicked around and such, but thats normal. Just apply another coat if they start flaking...
Painting > OEM mach 1's... paint them all the way.

Dont know how you guys are painting them, but I work at Discount tires(3 years) and every set of painted brakes I have seen look like absolute ****(or atleast I dont remember a set that looked good). If you dont keep up on them, you will regret it I think.

Sand em and clean em off good. Apply a couple coats. and clear them if you are feelin crazy. They will hold up
Just think how many rocks and such get kicked up around in there... The only alternative to painting is powdercoating. But painting = $10 and powdercoating = $100+
Paint them. If it comes out sh*tty, resand them and do it better haha. You cant really go wrong here... Everything can be fixed and anything will probably look better than what they are now
