i have a manual 2004 mach 1 with 23,xxx miles. and when i start the car, while it idles you can hear a sort of shaking sound or like tick sound in a way and when i barely push on the clutch, the sound stops and i release it, it comes back. but if i drive the car around the sound will stop but will come back when i stop the car and start the engine again. what can this be from? is it normal?

That is your throw-out bearing, mine does the same exact thing and I am replacing the clutch soon. Mine has 53k miles.

But if it was a throwout bearing, wouldn't you hear it from the stick? I only hear mine on the outside of the car.

and to clarify, the sound is more like a tick tick tick.

Most likely the TO bearing. That's common and normal. That's why the stock pedal has an automatic adjuster on it. The design is to keep a little bit of pressure on the bearing all the time. Not enough to call it pre-load, but just enough to maintain solid contact. It was part of the noise reduction required by the EPA.
