My Friday night install
 

Installed my Rotorpros slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads. Took me alllll day since I was cleaning and painting the calipers/brackets. Painted the brackets and calipers with Duplicolor spray cans

Had to lodge the hammer in there to push the caliper piston back in since the pads would not clear the lip on the rotor lol. I used the steering wheel to my favor of turning the assembly more than by hand.

Place I got them from www.rotorpros.net A lot of guys on M1R use them and that's how I heard of this place. Came to $270 shipped. The black painted hats are an extra option. Could have gone blue, but didn't want it. I was quoted $700 for all OEM parts....

Some of us, myself included, just don't feel like going through the hassle for brake upgrades so you are to be commended on a job very well done. She looks really good.

Thanks! I don't see it much of an "upgrade" since it costs $270 and stock stuff was $700 LOL. But it was one of those things that "I might as well clean and paint them while stuff is apart."

The work will pay off when the 18" black saleens go on for the summer. The blue calipers will pop out nicely I think.

^ I know it's a tease. lol It's killing me not to put them on, but this weather is so up and down it's almost 60 right now...in a couple days they are calling for a snow flurry.

Have you noticed any increase in stopping power? Seems like you could also go with larger calipers on the front brakes. $270 is a really good deal for 4 rotors and pads.

Going from chewed up stock rotors and hawk racing pads, The stopping "bite" has decreased. But I'm expecting them to bite harder as they break in more. I didn't want bigger calipers because I didn't want to run larger wheels as this is my DD.

And $270 is an amazing deal for what I got. I tried to piece a kit like this together but always came higher than $270. I'm sure you can find cheap china knock-offs on ebay, but I'm not trusting that crap on my car and only to crack or warp within a couple of months.

Great deal! I might have to jump on these when its time to replace mine. Let us know how they good they bite once they wear a little, a quick easy way to do this is to go to an empty "Mexican" road take it up to 70mph and slam on the brakes as hard as you can. :D

Thats what I did to bed them in. Took it easy getting to the road then did a 1/4 slow down just to seat everything from 30 to 15 ish then went up to 60/65 and hit the brakes about 3/4 to "slamming" on them down to about 10mph all while never coming to a stop with my foot on the brakes. Did that about 8 times in a row, got up on the highway and drove for 7 min or so letting them cool.

The rotors turned a bluish tint letting me know I got them up to temp by doing that and let it cool overnight with no e-brake applied and only a wheel chock holding her still.

I may do another bedding in process in a couple of days.
