lol, how much you want to spend?

I would, and have, just got some Summitomo's from AM when I had 17x9 17x10.5 FR500's on my 04 GT and it was a DD...I don't see a reason to buy expensive tires if it get used only on weekends for just cruising.

Summis suck @ss..Stay far away Traction is awful and they are cheap tire that will cause the car to tram.

Nitto 555 FTW !!!!

Best tire for the buck IMO

Yeah I second Repzard, Nitto triple nickels are an awesome tire. Had them on My Mach when I had it and I will buy them again next time I need tires. Lucky for me I work at Discount Tire and happen to get a hefty discount, lol.

i have nitto nt555 and they last forever but the traction is not good, also the sidewalls are pretty soft making them feel pretty bad in corners. Mine are 245/45's though and are 2-3 yr old with like 20k miles on them, still alot of tread left.

The traction in the rain is so bad, atleast for the rear wheels, i can lose traction at like 1800 rpm in 3rd at 25 mph with half throttle or so on a stock car.. Also not impressed by the dry traction, cant hook a 2k rpm launch

Id go with eagle f1 gs d3's if i could find them in stock, but they seem to be sold out everywhere. NT05's probably are quite a bit better than nt555's, never tried them though.

^ If one is considering the Eagle F1 GS-D3's, please consider the Michelin PS2's instead:

Review

For a Mach 1 that is a weekend ride, I would certainly look to a tire that offers more grip than the 555's. They are a nice tire, but with the performance offered by a 4V, makes sense to upgrade to more grip. The question becomes, what kind of grip do you need?

Off the line or lateral?

Since I own a Mach and am getting into liking corner carving (as you already know) along with some off the line, what tire you recommend?? Not a lot of $$ but a decent summer tire.

Are you going to drive these tires year round? What type of weather do you have in Walton?

I would like off the line grip as much as lateral. I was at a point where my automatic would chirp third gear. So I got a deal from work and ended up with cheap @ss summi's, I couldn't pass up the deal.

Want to thank everyone for their input. I will post up pictures asap.
