Default SLP LM2 Personal Opinions

I've owned two mustangs in the past and recently bought a 2003 Torch Red Mach 1 with 800 (yes 800 miles) It looked like it rolled off the showroom floor.

But anyways i've always had Borla on mine but was looking towards a little different route. I can't stand sound clips because you can never trust the quality.

Anyone who has seen/heard LM2's in person I would appreciate your opinion if you liked them or anything else. I'm seriously considering purchasing them within the next 3 days so fire away.

Thank you.
PS pics soon.

In all honesty, they sound like a muffled glasspack with that distinct "fiberglass fart" sound. Im not a fan.

Gahh I love Borla I just want something different. It's more expensive and the sound is old to me. How do you like your MAC catback?

I absolutely love it. It has that old, rustic muscle car sound. Remember the old 5.0s with flows sound? yeah. It breaks away from the sound you hear all the time.

It sounds much better now that my car is tuned and the pipes have broken in more.

Here is when I just had the SLP LM1 catback with stock H pipe.

I don't have a Mach 1, but I do love the way they sound!

I like this one just because it's so over the top loud and that bubbly noise sounds so good.

And I like this one a lot.

You should look into SSS...they make a great exhaust that is pretty darn cheap. I've heard its comparable to Borla but has a slightly different tone.

I think it would be a shame to cut off the stock exhaust. Machs are rare, 800 mi. Machs are RARE. I would first get a midpipe, it will open up the exhaust more than a catback, resulting in a more aggressive tone than stock with a larger performance gain than any catback will give you. And you won't have to cut anything. If you do put on I catback, I'd suggest dropping the rear so you won't have to cut.

lm2,borla stinger,pypesm80,sss terminator, race bullets they are all in many ways similar to the glasspack just different lengths, and diameters of the housing, and amount of packing. Similar design but Total different cost between some of them http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...er-design.html

Ended up going with the LM1. Sounds amazing. Not too loud with stock midpipe and has an amazing gurgle.

@rygi23 I'm saving every stock part and receipt etc. Shes a beauty.

Well I hope you drop the rear so you don't have to cut the factory exhaust. I started out with LM1s as well. IMO it's the best sounding muff/resonator with an otherwise stock exhaust. Sounds good even just sitting at idle. Then I added a midpipe, big no-no. Had to swap the LM1s out for powerflo muffs. It's also the best performance gain catback, 8-10 peak hp thanks to it's more gradual pipe bends. Have fun with it, and feel free to post some pics of your beauty in the pics sticky and an exhaust vid in the exhaust sticky.
