Again, i would assume it would raise some big flags based on the logic here. Just seems like they are throwing what you owe on the car out the window.

Makes me look at my title and be like "Damn, if I still owed money i could hop into a shelby for the same price" kinda thing.

Anyway, lets see how it plays out

You need to look at what you are in the hole for. 26 for the car, and another 8 after what they give you.

This is why this whole idea seemed so far fetched from the start dude. You cant hop into a car thats 4 years newer for the same price, its impossible. All of your calculations never accounted for what you owed on the car, that's where the difference comes from. Once you sell the car to them, you still owe the bank that 8 grand. So you would have that payment ONTOP of the new car of 26 (if you get them that low).

Feel free to call me later if you want to talk dude, they probably never told you that you would have to still pay that 8k you owed on your car now, thus making the deal seem so much sweeter.

I've talked to like 5 different people now, all saying the same thing. I hate to crush your dreams here, but its just not reachable given the numbers. Even if you only owe 18 that still makes it 32k. Sorry bro.
I'll bite haha. I think you are right, if you are getting a 26k car, add what you owe, then subtract your trade and down payment. That seems to be the logical way at least lol.

it is the "logical" way, but not the way that i'm getting...i was explaining the way that the deal would be done for me...i didn't add in the original post that it was a favor being done for me and that started the long dragged out post haha

so, this is a favor being done for me lol

hey, rdsk18...still interested in the shelby?

Of course I am interested, but I don't think it is in the cards right now. I need to make it through the winter before I consider trading in my car. I love how you two made a long thread all by yourselves too, I was reading that and saying "Damn, is this just them having a conversation?" haha

I think there is a big difference between a favor, and the dealer taking an $12,000 loss to sell a car man. I mean you have to be literally crazy to not see this man. 12 THOUSAND dollars. How many moths salary is that? (don't answer just saying).

They are not concerned with what you owe the Bank, that's your problem. So they give you 12, and your bank still wants 20 (or whatever from you).

Ask them about this, I'm very curious to see what they say.
