    Hi,

I hope you can help me with a definitive answer. I purchased a 2010 Base Mustang convertible. It does not have the shaker500 but does have the factory radio that has the telephone, sirius and aux buttons on it.
My question is can I install the Sync upgrade kit that is for sale for around $500 to gain the sync features? Is there another option to gain nav (sync turn by turn would be fine) or a regular nav and the bluetooth features?
Hoping you can help, I have recieved answers all over the board.
Thanks for your help in advance
    Steve

Hello FordEngineer. I have just purchased a 2011 GT500 but since it's essentially a 2011 Mustang, I was hoping you could help me. I wanted to order the car with a backup camera but it doesn't come as a factory option. I was wondering what I would need to do to get a camera installed and hooked up to the SYNC head unit. What I was HOPING I could do was buy an aftermarket patch cable that plugs into the back of the unit which allows a video input and then wire an aftermarket camera to that video input and then bring my car to a FORD/Shelby dealer and have them flash the Sync firmware to enable stock rear camera functionality. I was wondering if you could clarify the feasibility of this and if there is anything specific I should tell the mechanic / audiovideo guy to get them to enable that feature.

I have read that other users with F150s have had their Syncs (without backup cameras) flashed with the "as-built" data of another car WITH the backup camera which was pulled from Oasis and it enabled the car to use the camera as if it was an ordered feature. The issue I'm wondering about is if it would be possible to flash my GT500 with the Nav system with the data from a Mustang GT with Nav AND the camera to get that feature...

Will the nav operate correctly in my GT500 if it is programmed for a Mustang GT?

Thanks...It's a complicated request but hopefully I was clear.

Hello FordEngineer. I am looking into ordering a 2011 V6 to upgrade from my '06 one, and I am considering adding the Electronics Package to the car, among other things. I appreciated your in depth posting about this kit from last July, it helps me get a clearer idea about the package itself. In your post you had attached a series of pictures of various screens and states for the system. For some reason the site is not letting me view those images, even after registering. Would it be possible for you to send me those images? I only ask because my local dealership doesn't have an '10 model with the package, so I cannot see it in person. Also can you tell me what portions of the system are subscription based, and do they have any functionality without the subscription? Much thanks in advance.

Hey, I made some threads about switching out the steering wheel and adding USB support in the GT Deluxe. I had noticed the controls are there on the head unit for using SYNC... but all I want right now is to add a usb cable. Is there a place in the back of the head unit to put this in or do you actually need to install a sync module for this to be possible?

Also, if I upgrade the steering wheel to the premium version, are there harnesses already in place to attach the HU controls, or is that something I'd have to add in as well?

THe name of the thread is "USB Deluxe GT" under technical discussions if you want to answer this question publicly.

    Thanks.

I hope you are the engineer who has posted about the electronics package. Reading your posts was a big influence on my buying a 2010 GT with the package. And I couldn't be happier!

I have a question concerning jukebox (great feature); Plugging a USB memory stick with mp3's on it plays great, I was wondering why my USB portable hard drive (250GB WD Passport) does not work with similar mp3's. Any way of making any USD HD work?
Thanks in advance for any input.

I read you post about the nav and the shaker 500. I have a 2009 GT with the shaker 500. Will the factory nav unit plug in without any adds or modifactions other then the gps antenna?
Also is there an output on the shaker 500 and or nav head unit, for adding an aftermarket sub amp?
    Thank you in advance,
    Daniel

Hi, sorry to bother you but thought you might know. I'm considering buying a 2010 GT Premium Convertible. When trying to configure the car at the Ford site it won't let me add the Shaker 500/1000 with the Electronics and Nav package. Does buying the Nav/Elec Pkg automatically upgrade you to the better sound system or is it a case of having to choose one or the other? I'd really like to have the much heralded Shaker1000 AND the cool LCD readout toy.

One other question; I've read a lot about something called a Track Pack and Track Pack II but I don't see where I can add these to the car I'm building. I thought it might be because I'm selecting an automatic but when I switched to a manual the option still did not display.

Thanks in advance and hopefully I'm not bothering you too much!
