I am sure that you could do it to your lx I had the lx body on my car before the gt but didn't like it and when I got the gt on there the car was running to hot so that is what made me cut the center. I will tell you that you will need a big flat head screw driver,( to pop the plastic body keeps) and a drill for the rivets, also a good new blade and a razor knife. were gloves!!!! as I didn't and recived 3 busted knuckles... let me know I can give you more details if ya need
