My 1992 Electric Blue 2.0L Turbocharged Plymouth Laser RS-T
Woot. First thread in the new section.
Here is my 92 laser as shown in my sig.
the car is pretty much stock, with the exception of the high flow cat, full exhaust, and the balance shafts are removed.
Its only been to the track once, and it was an 8th mile track. I was fairly disappointed in what it ran, as it spent the day in the 9.30s, with a best of 9.29...however, it is a fun little car to drive, and i got it pretty cheap.
Im thinking about adding a boost controller this summer, but I need to finish my 71 demon first.
Anyways, the pictures:
When I bought it, it had some body damage to the right rear and left front, as well as peeling paint which is hard to see in these pictures:
And after a low cost paint job and some body work, this is how it looks now...

Pat,
That came out really nice. I didn't realize that you had it painted. And 9.2's in the 1/8th isn't
too shabby. What is the boost on that?
Bill
P.S. - Who's working on the rules for this section and its subs? I'll help out if needed. I would
suggest adding a rule about keep the max pic width under 800 or so to keep the page from
scrolling off screen.

RE: 1992 Plymouth Laser RS-T
i wanted to downsize my pictures, but ive been really busy this morning...however, i didnt want the section to be empty...this was ardollers idea, and i believe that he has rules all set to go, but hes not online right now.
the car is making around 10psi...it launched really well, but didnt pull well on the top end, and i found out afterwards that the piping between the MAFS and compressor was cracked and leaking, and it made about a tenth and a half difference...the car has 130,000 miles on it...and while im happy enough with the body now, the right rear qp has a crack in the paint, so i intend to get that fixed again after this winter, but it may require a laywer...[:@] i should have taken better "before" pictures, as the paint was really bad, although you cant see it in the pictures...for now, im really pleased with how well it runs, and it gets around 20mpg. there are a few "free mods" that i can do to get a bit more power out, such as modifying the stock boost control solenoid...but it has an idle issue due to the poor shape of the charge piping, and i dont want to put money into the car right now. it was supposed to be a beater, as i got it so cheap, but then the cheap body work offer came along...and now its one of the nicer cars i have...

rice indeed...
the body work is not as good as it looks. dont get me wrong, the car looks 100 times better, but the area which was wrecked is now where the two cracks have popped up.
with the badging, they do not have a rear badge to seperate the laser RS and laser RS-T. The turbo models (T) had the same rear badging, but along the sides of the car, it had decals that read something like "twin cam 16 valve" and "turbo intercooled". however, when i had the car painted, i did not replace those. the RS is 135hp, NA, and the RS-T is 195 stock.

The car is 16 years old, so its in good shape for an older car..
But I can see the AWD model making a good DD.
and it looks cleaner without the wiper. lol

sorry to disappoint, but i put it back on...
i thought about doing away with it, but the backglass is so flat, that snow sits on it, even when moving.
youre right, and you sound like my dad now..."its an old car, it looks great how it is now"...which is true, as the car has a great 20 foot paint job...but when i paid for it, they didnt specify the "20 feet" part...it doesnt seem to be getting any worse, but its bad enough that i think about it frequently. i paid very little for the car or the paint job, but still, i didnt tell them "ill pay you your price for a poorly done paint job"...[&o]
