My 1988 Dirty Black 300cid F-150 Pickup
And now for something completely different...
This truck has a bit of a backstory. The previous owner was my dad, who bought this truck as his first new vehicle back in 1988. I remember sitting on my dad's lap as awee lad"driving" around the school parking lot down the street in this truck. Needless to say it has somewhat of a sentimental value to my family. It washis personal vehicle for awhile but eventually got drafted as our company work truck for about a decade where it accumulated most of the wear and tear seen in the pics. I am certain if it had stayed as my dad's personal vehicle it would be almost like-new as he is very **** (as am I) about maintaining vehicles.
By the time I got my license the truck had been retired from the company with 240,000 miles and mostly sat in front of our house, barring the occasional trip to the local dump. He offered it to me as my first car for free plus a fresh paint job, soI couldn't turn it down. Since then it's survived my learning to drive stick on it (not an easy feat compared to other vehicles) and subsequently getting my teenage driving urges out on it .
Well I seem to have written a book here, so I'll just get on with the pics:
A comparsion pic I made awhile ago after I got it painted at Maaco (prep work courtesy of my 16 year old skills):
Doing some off-roading (4x2 FTL [:'(]):
