You'd shoot it on sight with a rocket gun because you drive a Roush.

Saleen doesn't put anything on their cars which doesn't improve performance, the 20" wheels are even designed to improve cornering stability and are amazingly light for 20s and have been shown compared to the stock bullits to do that job.
Furthermore a Saleen only has 57lbs more weight than stock. According motortrend, they dyno tested the Saleen 3v and it put down 328hp (335 claimed) and 344tq (345 claimed), not 315. In fact Saleen has never had 315hp to the point where no one has even considered the fact before which is shown by the only results that come up when you search for saleen 3v s281 and 315 hp are this thread. Hmmm.
Also a Saleen 3v has never gotten less than a 13.7 quarter mile in the hands of a skilled driver. It's not a high 14 second car. it's a high 13 second car. Finally it doesn't cost 55k it's 45k.
Also the 3v is designed purely as an appearance package so using the performance and cost measuring stick on it makes no sense. Most other Saleens have such good preformance for the money that no other brands can compete, for example 5.0 magazine dynoed the 2008 S302 E car and it was shown to be under rated... so you the real question when looking at a ~770 hp S302e that costs $79999 is damn why is it so cheap? For example the 505 hp corvette z06 costs the same, handles worse, and seats only 2 (and the comparisons just gets worse from there).
Your 0-60 time of 5 seconds on your v6 seems to be dead on with your mods however.

I stand corrected on the horsepower, it was 335 for the 2007 as well. It was 1 1/2 years ago that I test drove that Saleen and was so disappointed on how heavy & slow it felt. Looks good. The sticker on that one was $55K.
As far as the weight of the GT I didn't see it on Fords web site. Edmonds says 3356, CarandDrive says 3483. All I know is the Saleen feels heavier & slower.
Now if you could get a new Shelby for list price of $43K that would be good performance for the money but the dealer bumped the price to $68K.

You can find a Saleen Extreme for $39000 with 9.5k miles that is still under 3/36 warranty. It will destroy a shelby in every last single measurable way . More horsepower with 600 lbs less weight and handling tuned by a racing team would do that...
And the Saleen is cheaper with the cost of tuning options included... contrary to what most people say the extreme is cheaper to mod when looking at your options that specific engine has just as much potential as well as lower cost up to stratospheric levels (it's cheaper up to 1000 hp).
It will have less heritage and name factor not being a "shelby" though.

What expert "praise"? Well, it looks like a production Saleen that we see all the time. It is a beautiful car, but show's no personal taste like modifying on your own.
