super easy. I also got a little nikon book that taught me alot about features of the camera and what not. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone trying to get started with SLR cameras

daym son. My stepmom just got the Nikon D40 for christmas. Pretty shweet. BUT the company camera that we just bought (family owned business) is a Canon 50D. That thing is one of the best camera's I've ever seen.

Great pics and great looking car. Looks like you're off to a good start.
Despite what most people think, the camera has much less to do with good pictures than the lens and the 'nut' behind the camera. :-) High quality glass, knowledge of the camera functions and principals of photography are the most important in producing good shots!
Photography has been a hobby of mine for a few years now, I'm not pro but I'm decent enough. If you're new to the SLR/DSLR world I highly recommend "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson. It does a fantastic job of explaining how shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc work together.
