Default First attempt at HDR

did this one in photoshop. i have photomatix pro, but i read a how-to blog on the interwebz so i used ps for this one. it turned out decent, but i know theres so much more potential. 3 pictures were taken at different exposures with a canon power shot sd850 IS. the picture is really grainy and i dont know why. the originals aren't. if anyone can help me out any i'd really appreciate it. also, if anyone wants to toy with it, i have the originals i can send you. any input appreciated, thanks!

sorry dude but thats not even close! HDR should look similar to these. i dont think im the best at it but yours is far from hdr. you will get better with time and prac. its more then just laying 3 different exposures over each other. you have to play around with gama/white point/ black point/ light smoothing/ micro smoothing. i think the problem with the set you had was that you didnt have an underexposed enough pic. thats why it came out so bright. not trying to be a ***, just giving some constructive criticism. it took me a little bit to figure it all out. its a whole new/different way of post processing.

here are a few of mine.

ive never had one come out like that. weird. the program i have takes two steps to complete it, are you sure you finished it. also, you know when you messed the photo up, because nothing is lined up right.

looks like you need the pics to be more under and over-exposed. so you can pic up all the shadows and highlights.
