Get Your Stang in a Movie!
Hey guys,
I was lurking around craigslist and found this ad looking for some muscle cars to be used in an upcoming movie being shot in MI in November. Though I'd pass it along to those of you who may be interested. It would be way cool to have someone's car from the forums used!

I actually had someone contact me a while back, stating how they wanted to put my car in a local movie (along with others). After a few emails i found out it was a scam.
Hopefully this isn't the same kind of crap.

Sounds like a scam to me, why would a company who is producing a film need to place an ad on CL anyway? If you guys want another heads up, stay away from the "Women Seeking Men" section on CL, I met monster on there once that looks like one of the characters on my shirts. No lie.

Alot of those scams work by talking a good game then charging you a "registration" fee to register your car to be used in movies. Sometimes they'll even try to get you to pay lots of money for their photographer to shoot pics for a "portfolio". Basically, it's the same scam as those people who walk around shopping malls telling everyone that they represent a talent agency and they think you/your child could be the next big star/child star.

yeah those are pretty bad. There was one that tried that. I had my 13 yr old with me and she may as well be one of those annoying Disney show tv characters. I asked the person if they looking for a "registration" fee and they were like nope. it's free. Anyways, I called the number to check it out, the "company" putting on the commerical screenings was an acting school and "part of what their comprehensive screening provides is a 20 minute presentation by the school to show you how your child can be a star".
Needless to say I passed.
