Default My 72 Mach 1 Resto-Mod

351C 2V, aftermarket ignition, 9 qt monster oil pan, headers that probably aren't street legal, hi-flow holley carb with electric fuel pump that is noisy as hell.

Love this thing.

looks sweet, but isn't that a 73? The rectangle lights in the grill should be horizontal for 71 and 72 mach 1s

Great question and good eye!

I asked the same thing when I bought it.

The answer is, the car went through several owners who used and abused the hell out of it. The body is almost completely new and for one reason or another, when the front end was replaced they threw a 73 on. The rest of the car is 72 (verified by VIN) but just for some reason it has the 73 front.

Since I'm doing a resto-mod I'm not sweating the details. Right now I'm just happy that it has a front end at all. Maybe down the line I'll find a 72 grill but from what I've read the 72 is a different size than a 73 so it's not an easy swap.

I'll put up a picture of the rear end later today as the previous owner laso put a blacked-out bumper with rubber stoppers on it too. I'm not too concerned about it though. Not a huge chrome fane to being with.

haha thanks. I only noticed because my dad had a 73 mach 1 when I was little. I definitely prefer the 71 and 72 model years though, better stripe on the side, front looks better, no stupid bumpers everywhere lol
