    what products did you use on your initial correction?

    You don't need a tach adapter and you don't wire it into your tachometer. I wired mine into my #8 cylinder coil pack wire. There is a common colored wire going to each coil and then there is an oddball colored wire. This is the wire you tap into for your rpm signal. Here is a post I made in another thread about window switches.

    When the switch powers on, I have the first setting set to 1 cylinder. The yellow wire coming out of the switch connects to the negative on your solenoids and grounds the solenoids when the selected rpm is reached.
