RE: "Detroit" get together 10/27 - cruise to drag strip
10:35 p.m. on Friday night and nothing on the Knoll-Gas Motorsports Park website http://www.us131motorsportspark.com/index2.aspto indicate any plans to cancel tomorrow's racing yet.
And the weather report is showing less chance for rain tomorrow - so I'm planning to go still! Will see you in the morning (2007Calispecial, 8 a.m at the By Lo at the I-69 and Wadhams Road junction - get off I-94 at Wadhams and turn left or go up to the I-69 junction and go west to Wadhams and turn right on that exit). See you Morbid at Emmet, and Rainson and your 2 friends, we'll see you in Flint!
Fox - watch for other posts, we have a group that gets together frequently and I'll try to post that information here in the Regional - Midwest section. You should also check out the Mustang Owners Club of Southeast Michigan (www.mocsem.com) the club meets monthly in Livonia.

Hope you get the car figured out and set up again Downriver, and thanks for lunch Morbid! Did you have any more codes on the trip home DownriverT, or is it only on WOT?
Definitely need to go back to US131 in the spring. Too bad the weather didn't cooperate enough for them to open up. At least we had a good cruise and a chance to meet other Mustang fans! I know that if I would have decided not to risk the trip, and theweather had cooperated better, I would have been very ticked. Here's a couple of pictures -- all lined up but with nowhere to run[:@] :

Sorry to hear you guys got rained out. I counted 7 Stangs and one biege ? in the photos. Was the ? Morbid Intentions' Lincoln. I would have liked to be there but I was beat after our trip to the Smoky Mountains. Didn't get home until Friday night. FYI I got an email from Lapeer Dragway saying they will be open through November.

Hi Jack - would have liked to have raced yesterday, but it is a definite road trip for the spring. Track looks great. And yes, the beige like car is Morbid's Lincoln - he had moved it just before I took the pictures so I didn't get a good picture of his car.
I have to get up to Lapeer, since it is close and open. Let me know when you are ready to go.

It is only at wot did 80-85 all the way home and actually runs like nothing is wrong until I leave it at full throttle for awhile. I am going to bite the bullet and take it to Ford Service my wallet already hurts just thinking of that. It has to be a sensor or the actual wot switch unless somehow I messed up the tune. The track looks great. I will be going back sometime next year for sure. Maybe we can even get 20+ and rent it.

Hope you get things worked out Mike - and I think we should be able to get 20+ to rent the US131 track easily.
I couldn't stand not getting a chance to run yesterday, so went to Lapeer and set a new personal best during thetest and tune from 11 - 1. The only thing different this time was the Shaftmasters aluminum driveshaft on my 2006 V6 automatic. I was going to mount up a pair of drag radials that Droptop6 let me borrow, but discovered that when Discount Tire put my black bullits on they decided to swap the lugnuts - and the ones they used aren't the same size as the Ford so the lug wrench is useless!
Set a new personal best today - only got three passes in but set a new PB on the first run, and then bettered that with the second run! The third run, didn't launch well and only at 1,000 rpm (let's just say that there was a problem and I located it between the steering wheel and back of the drivers seat on that run[:@]).Next will have to figure out how to use the DR's, after I get the lug nut issue worked out with Discount Tire.
1st run:
RT.......... 0 .768 (perfect at Lapeer is 0.500)
60'...... 2.119
1/8 ET ....... 9.572
1/8 MPH ....77.49
1/4 ET.... 14.782
1/4 MPH ..92.12 Not my fastest speed, so I know it has more.
2nd run:
RT............. 0.721
60'............ 2.110
1/8 ET ...... 9.530
1/8 MPH ... 78.76
1/4 ET ......14.730 New personal best!
1/4 MPH ...92.38 Still not as fast as my best top speed yet.
I put it all on my spreadsheet and did some comparisons. After upgrading the LCA's my average 60' had dropped from 2.294 to 2.217. With the aluminum driveshaft and three runs today, my average 60' dropped to 2.116! Guess the 'butt dyno' was right, the aluminum driveshaft alone is making the car accelerate quicker in addition to being stronger.
All three of my 1/4 ET's were inmy top 4 for the year.
