detroit area summertime meet and greet
so, ive spoken with a few detroit area members, and im posting this so that we can get a feel for how many people would like to do a meet and greet. im opting not to organize a track event, as people who arent really into racing are less likely to come to something like that, as they have to pay to enter, deal with the pressure of not running..etc...plus, i dont want all the mustang guys picking on my slow cars at the track...
im just talking something simple, like meeting somewhere, and maybe cruising to somewhere else. i did one on DF last year, where we met at the chrysler museum in auburn hills and cruised to a hooters, but we had terrible weather...raining the entire day.
ive spoken to a few members from the detroit area, and we have a ton of members from detroit/michigan/ontario/northern ohio...so lets hear some thoughts on what people would like to do. i thought about something like stony creek metropark, as thats a nice area with loads of parking, but each car has to pay to get in, and any screwing around on the streets in that place is a very bad idea.
i was thinking some time in june or july, as we hope to avoid spring shows...and hopefully avoid michigans lovely summer rain too...
so, dont be bashful...speak up and lets hear some ideas.

RE: detroit area summertime meet and greet
any preferreddate or location?
something else that has been discussed...do we want this to be something that is more family friendly? there are many directions that we could go with this, from just meeting and cruising to an eatery, to a BBQ (which requires cooking work by someone) to something like CJ BArrymores...where they have a huge parking lot, go karts, etc...that would be more of a family friendly thing...but CJBs isnt cheap.

RE: detroit area summertime meet and greet
Speaking of get togethers, I was asked this week about the Cruise Night in Port Huron and ifwecan do it again this year- we had about 15 Mustangs get together last year for it. I think it is Friday, July 18 and I am going to start working on a couple of spots to see if we can reserve a parking lot with room on Pine Grove Avenue this year.
