4) would a 99 aftermarket inlet tube work? It depends. do you have a 97-98 MK VIII engine or a 93-96. if tis 97-98 then the 99-04 inlet tube SHOULD work.

5) do you have pics of the heater hose fix issue? what issue? if you mean the cooling mod, like stated above, its not necessary for your situation

6) would i have to swap the 96 gt fuel injector lines with the mark 8 engine? what year is your mustang? this will allow us to help you

ok the mustang is a 96 gt. the engine (mark 8) i got is a 1998 however it says november 97 on the engine itself so i think it was built in 97 to put in the 98 model not sure thought. the heater hose issue is what the author of this post stated he had to do in order to make it work. that is why i was asking. hope this helps and thanks for the info you are giving me.

one more thing. should i take out the transmission with the motor when i remove the engine? i dont have a car hoist that can lift the car so i have to take this thing out the top of the car. however i dont want to catch hell attempting to put the new motor in. is this truly the best way? thanks again

sorry to keep this up however i have another question about the swap. 1) is the alternator setup the same or would i have to convert it to work with the gt wiring harness, i know that they are diffrent however are teh electric components the same?

2)would the mark 8 motor mounts fit or should i swap the ones on my 96 gt.

3) i dont feel comfortable attempting to thread a hole in my coolant crossover tube. also 93-95 mark 8 coolant crossover tubes are hard as hell to find. i was wondering if i were to splice the 2 sensor wires together and make it one would this work?

thanks again

*sigh*

I miss my 98 Mark VIII. I wish I didn't sell it but I needed a driveway.

Great thread.

ok so I have read every post in this thread, I have a 99 GT with 200k+ getting a free 94 mark viii tomorrow, the way I read it the 94 will be a non cop motor, but some people act like you can use the valve covers from a COP Mark Viii on the non COP 94 engine and use COPs? am I right here? or does it take diffrent heads for the COPS? also if I have the whole car what all should I get while I'm pulling things out? will this motor swap into my 99 GT at all, how can I delete the EGR, and what is the best route to delete the IMRCs?

You can use cop valve covers. I would suggest a 96-98 cobra intake manifold if your running those b heads. It is also a good time to install headers when you have the engine out.

I have a question. Hopefully someone can answer. I have an 04 sixxer and am in the beginning stages of this swap. I have an ecu and gauges from an 03 GT, but don't have a harness yet. Will the dash harness from an 01 Cobra work with my GT parts? or do I NEED to get the harness from a GT?

Thanks
