I have a 96 gt with a 4.6 that I wrecked . The whole drivetrain on the car is perfect. I'm getting ready to buy a 97 gt for the body to put my drivetrain in. The guy said that he had a 5.0 in the 97. He said the wires the go to under the passenger kick panel to the harness your motor plugs into we're for the 5.0 . Does ne know if that PCM harness is the same for a 4.6 to a 5.0. Thanks

Doubtful considering a 5.0 is OHV and a 4.6 is SOHC. Besides that he had to modify the car to accept the 5.0 so you would need to reset it back to what is was before to put the 4.6 in it. You're better off just buying a working car and putting that 4.6 on a stand.

The wirring is WAY different, and also he must of changed the k member, because a pushrod motor wont mount to a 4.6 k frame.

Ok we'll thanks for your help. I took my motor , tranny , tubeular k member, tubeular a arms , PCM , gas tank , the wiring harness from the PCM out. So hopefully it all goes in easy. Thanks for the help though
