Default V6 to V8? or turbo..

i have a 2006 mustang 4.0L v6 automatic transmission... and i want to drop the 2006 4.6 v8 in it can i do it without having problems? will the tranny hold up? suspension? shafts?.. or should i just beef up my v6 with turbo chip.. please help..

Chips are a waste of time/money.
Dollar for dollar, you can mod the V6 to get more power than the stock V8 cheaper than you can drop in a V8. Just something to think about.
Many guys like their ProCharger set ups for the 4.0L. Look into that.

Simple answer if your goal is 300ish RWHP get boost and call it a day. If your goal is beyond that get a v8 and either engine mods or a supercharger. One is relatively cheap and easy one is more expensive and labor intensive, however provides greater potential.

Hoping to stay under 3500 but I just want 300s hp. What's my cheapest way to hit that but also safest.. And thanks for the pro charge idea. What's best pro charge super charge or turbos. Best bang for ur buck

It's used for eveRy day driving but also some side racing, I want the power there when needed

A lot of people run Xchargers on their 4.0 sixxers with great success. Some also run either vortechs or prochargers (or maybe both, I forget). Check out the 4.0 S197 section of this site.
