Default 351w in a Fox

Ive read a lot of forums and articles about swapping a 351w into a fox. ive got a 93 foxbody with a 5.0 that has a weak motor in it. recently i bought a 351w that came out of a ford truck. the plan is to buy parts over time and not rush or spend a lot of money right now. id like to get forged rotating assembly and find a good top end kit. im not sure what all im looking for though exactly. i want to make good horsepower and also plan on adding a turbo or supercharger. so my main question i have is that ive seen a lot of swaps where they say things need to be swapped over from the 5.0 to the 351, but if i already have a complete engine and plan to build that engine, with heads, cam , intake, and so on... i know i need the swap oil pan. i guess id like that know what all i have to do to the 351w i currently have to make it work.. its efi already but keep in mind im wanting to buy a good top end kit and forged rotating assembly.. i know it may not be necessary but its how i want it done. any comments on what kind of top end kit to get or pieces to put together and rotating assembly. and im not in a hurry to buy it all at once thanks in advance...

Top end - AFR 205's. Done.

Bottom end - get a stroker kit and don't take the motor any larger than 408cid - stock blocks aren't known for their longevity if punched out bigger than 408.

If you insist on adding a turbo, keep the compression down to 9-9.5:1.

Honestly, a stroked 351 is a torque monster, and a decently built 408 is capable of 500+ horsepower. Do you really think you need a power adder?

About the only thing you're gonna be able to keep off the old engine is the timing chain cover and the block.

Also, be mindful of the headers you select. BBK makes some swap headers, but I think the primaries are too small for the application. I would consider Accufab BT210's instead.

Agreed^^^^^^^^.
I'd prefer a Sportsman block even with the 408 but that's me.

A stock block will hold together at 408 as long as he doesn't get stupid with the power-adder. Besides, he already has a motor, so I assumed he's not interested in getting a Dart block.

I'm using a Dart SHP block in my 427w build.

I had a 408 in my 70 Cougar and it was perfect for that car...
Like you said, tons of torque and this thing would rev fast with the AFR heads (205).
A friend from Belgium was in town with a 68 Fasback that he just bought. His car needed a complete restoration but was rust free with no drive train.
He made me an offer I couldn't refuse on my barely broken in 408 so I yanked it out of the Cougar and put it in his car so it was drivable and easy to ship (roll on/roll off).
I did a quick 342 stroker build for the ole Cougar since I had all the parts in my shop except for the stroker kit itself, had a brand new beefed up block and 185 AFR heads with all the 5.0 accessories.
I'm slowly building back a 408 again because the 342 just doesn't cut it for me and this time I have a T56 to go behind it (The 5spd Tremec is showing its age).
All fun stuff.
