Hello all, my name is Simon and I'm new here. I have owned a mustangs all my life so I'm not a new kid in that aspect but I am in need of some help. My daily driver is an 85 3.8 convertible with the throttle body (CFI?) and the engine went bad. I am looking to replace it and I don't have time or money to do the 5.0 swap so I was wondering what years of 3.8 engines I can use to replace my worn out one. Thanks all for any help.

87 mustang LX 5.0 supercharged
67 mustang 289 4 speed full console overhead console
99 mustang cobra 4.6

I found a guy who has a 96 3.8 out of a cougar. can I use the block and heads with my equipment? I'm not sure as to the interchange years.

I sure hope there is someone here who can help me with this problem. I don't have a lot of options right now.
