1996 4.6 to 359 HO Swap
I've never swapped a motor, or really have much mechanical experience, but I am a quick learner and I think I can do this. I have a 1996 4.6 with a bad motor. I found a 359 for only $500. It came out of a 1990 F150 a long time ago. It only has low miles, but it has been sitting in a garage for 15+ years under a tarp.
I'm on a tight budget, but I have time to slowly save up for parts. I'm looking to build a daily driver that can keep up with 2005+ GTs. I'll probably go more of the junkyard route in building this, so I'm not looking for high performance parts unless I get a good deal.
Should I look for a different motor or would this motor be a good fit? Will the transmission fit? I just have the stock transmission.
Should I just try to rebuild the 4.6 instead?
All advice is appreciated!

What's a "359"? I'm guessing you mean 351W if it came out of a 1990 F150.
Anything can be done with some TLC (Time & Lots of Cash) but it would be MUCH easier to either fix or replace your 4.6, especially if this is your first rodeo. The modular transmission will not easily fit the old Windsor block.
What's wrong with the 4.6 that's in the car now?
