IT'S ALIVE!!
 

The DOHC swap into the 02 is done and for the last couple weeks I have been pulling my hair out trying to get it to run right, consistently. There were brief flashes where the stars aligned and it ran well but it was anything but reliable.

I had an appointment Friday to meet James Gordon from Tunes by James at Brothers performance to have it tuned on the dyno but damnitsomuch, Friday morning it wouldn't start. It flooded out and nothing. I called James to cancel because I didn't want to waste his time but he came by the house and spent about 6 or 7 hours tweaking it. This morning it was 31° this morning and it took about 4 or 5 seconds of cranking but crank it did.

It's still not perfect but damnation, is it fun. It screams like a beast when asked to and purrs like a kitten around town. I put about 100 miles on it today, driving around and grinning like an idiot. The more I drove it, the better it got.

Biggest lesson learned: Don't dick with the factory GT PCM/ECU. Save yourself many hours of chasing ghosts and go ahead and get it custom tuned.
