You need a tune that disables the PATS, the anti-theft system doesn't recognize your key because it is programmed to the old ECM. That's why it cranks but won't start.

If you upload the BAMA tune and it is for your old ECM and 4.0 you will cause more problems.

Thank you and no I order the tune for the v8 computer but bama is on a delay since there busy but thanks so hopefully I just need the tune and it should start right up will the theft light blink if that's what's going on?

Yes the theft light will blink if it doesn't recognize the key.

okay the car turns on and drives good only thing is the spedo doesn't work and I installed a new x pipe and I think that's what's making it look like the engine is smoking because I just have the x pipe but only when I'm getting on it

I got it from bama bought a tuner from American muscle and asked the pats system to be deleted on the side note

OK so I'm doing this swap also. but im doing a 94' 4 Valve, with a Ron Francis conversion harness, what ECM can I use? The Mark VIII Ecm that the donor car had?
