The right carburetor?

What 4bbl Carb will work on my II? I have an edelbrock intake manifold. I know most carbs will work, but I need one that will be able to have my KICKDOWN CABLE attached to my carb. Right now the kickdown isn't attached and the carb needs a new power valve which is easy to replace but it's the wrong carb.

SO My77stang, or anyone else which 302 carb will be able to have my kickdown attached. Also I would want a 600 cfm and vaccum secondaries. and it has to be a holley.

I tried on summit but didnt find one.

just get something with ford kickdown linkage, a holley 570 or 600 should do you just fine. and if you come across a really good deal on a carb that doesnt have the linkage you can buy a lokar kickdown kit for a C4 and it will work on any carb. its a stainless cable that replaces the stiff metal rod from the factory

I used the Lokar cable on my Edelbrock....worked great.
Now carb....Holley 600CFM Part #: 0-80457S, has vacuum secondaries......
Kickdown bracket - Transmission Kickdown Throttle Linkage Part # 20-35 "SHOULD WORK"

I bought a kickdown linkage deal once from a shop here, and in no way was that supposed to work. isn't the metal kickdown rod actually supposed to attach to something on the carb right? Well that locar deal didn't help. But GWB.. does that carb come with the correct linkage and stuff ON the carb, or will I have to buy the kit thing separate for the kickdown to work?

RE: The right carburetor?

Stang....I'm honestly not certain. I know on my Edelbrock, I HAD to buy the kickdown adapter. Not sure about the Holley. I had a Holley on a 66 Chevy Pick-up that I owned a few years back and swore them off afterCONSTANTLY replacing the power valve. Swore that I would never own another.....just my own opinion/experience. After I switched to the Edelbrock that truck had more throttle response than I had ever imagined possible. But back to topic.....Holley shows the adapter bracket in their on-line catalog, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you probably need to have it to get the correct/good fit up. But just to be certain, call their 1-800 number and speak to a sales rep - the good and bad there is those people are trained to "SELL"(the BAD) and SHOULD be well "VERSED" (the GOOD) in what's required for your particular application. Ask them if they can e-mail a picture of a "like" application for you to use as a "go by".....Edelbrock did for me. You know the installation instructions are so generic, sometimes you have to become a little creative to make it work for your particular car/application.

Yea true that. I spent 416 bucks just a second ago on summit. I ordered the 570 street avenger carb. The sales rep told me that would be good, and steered me to 2 linkage adapters that I might need to I picked those up for the kickdown. Hopefully it works out well. I think it should I i know i'll be satisfied. next up on order: Ummm a rebuilt trannyand an 8.8 in rear end with gears and possi. THEN HEADS AND CAM

haha. My dad said hold on to that carb. And told me to get a brand new one. He likes new things. In parts that is.
