Looking For Photos or Help with a V6 171 2.8L
I have a 76' Mustang II. I've been restoring it for a couple months now and came a long way. Its a V6 171 2.8L. I was wondering if anyone has pics of their engine so I can compare. The Vacuum Ports, vacuum hose, and all that is so hard to figure out. Its screwing up the way it idels and it runs rough, not just because of that but I really need some photos of a V6 171 2.8l engine. THANKS.

Well can someone at least tell me what vacuum hose goes where. Like a diagram, I have three ported vacuum switch. (Two have three inputs and One has Two inputs.) need to know where the EGR Port hose goes to, The spark Port hose, the spark advance hose, and pretty much all of em. PLEASE Answer to this.

This Forum Sucks
Wow, its amazing how many people help you here. This forum is a waste of time, there is no point in posting anything when no one replys.
Thanks "Mustang Forums",

There are not a lot of members with Mustang II's on here. Most sites I have been on only have a few 74-78 Mustang owners.
Usually people wait a few days before getting upset that no one responded to their thread.
I'm sorry I don't have the info you need, but you might try looking at some other Ford engin bays of the same years, like maybe a Maverick.

Yeah, Sorry for me saying all that. Its just that I thought if someone does have a mustang II, I figure they would atleast say something, or give me tips. I'll start over and just try to show off my project of my 76' Mustang II, which is coming along great, even though I had to replace everything, and spend over $2000 in parts and etc.

There is Three PVS. Two have 3 ports, and One has 2 ports. Carb has an EGR Port and a Spark Port. and a question. Does my car requier a Smog Pump if it's still not Reg. In California? cause my Check Valve is Plugged up.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. The shot you posted is not a high enough resolution to really see anything. Focus another shot on the engine itself. And pull the air cleaner so we can see the ports on your carb. Take one shot of the carb and one shot of the front of the engine.
I'm not familiar with the Smog equipment, sorry. But tell us, do you have power brakes? Automatic transmission? Power steering? Air conditioning? Etc, etc, etc?

yeah im sorry. I've actually been getting everything to fall into place alittle better. I got a new alternator, and a new battery terminal and now shes firing up great, i also fixed my timing which was causing rough ideling and hesition. I'll get a pic up tomorrow because I get some money and i wanna pick up some new parts, just some odds and ends.
