Default just purchased 77 Mustang GHIA new guy

,Greetings, Just joined the forum. New to Mustang II, but this will be my second Mustang build.
Just got her yesterday for $1400 for my wife...
A pretty much unmolested, seems to have almost all of the original pieces and parts...1977 with the 2.8. Cruise O Matic 51,000 actual.
Little bubbly stuff under paint on both lower front of doors. Still has the emissions mess,,,air pump etc, carb tag and seems most of the warning stickers. Has been repainted, but it was not an rattlecan in the garage. Been pricing tires. white wall 195 70R 13 are apparently made of gold. Needs shocks, a carb rebuild, power steering growls. Fluid is topped off and isn't as bad as it was, but something is going south. These are rack and pinion cars? *sigh
I'll be pestering y'all about where to get odd parts, stupid questions ( I know,,,No stupid questions Only stupid people..:-) ) observations and probably occasional $%^&^.
Any comments meanderings or advice would be appreciated.
First question: There is a large piece of broken black plastic on the passenger side engine compartment kinda attached to the fender. What is that?

She needs a GOOD bath and waxed, but wanted to get a few pictures out to the world.

Nice, I've always liked the Mustang II. Without that car we wouldn't still have a Mustang today!
