I had an `81 TA w/the big bird on the hood. I tell ya, people either loved it or hated it, but all agreed that it screemed ***** swinging far and wide. I don't think GM's execs, with all thier "market analysis" mentality pointing them in the direction of the soccer mom, have what it takes now to let it all hang out like that anymore. At least not on an affordable car--i.e. one they expect/hope would sell to a wide audience. Look what injustice they did to the GTO badge. Just my feeling of GM these days.

Ill tell you why everything is going retro ...2 reason
1. The keep trying to figure out how to get Mustang type sales
2. No one wants to be differint fallow the leader...

That is a pic from a design commisioned by Hot Rod magazine, it's too bad GM doesn't have that kind of talent on staff. They also had concept pictures of a new Barracuda (looked like a Challenger concept with a different hood and tail lights) and a Mercury Cougar. GM should buy the design and use it, but with their brilliant higher ups I'm sure they would mess it up and trample the name to death ala G.T.O.
