Default The next generation Stang...

OK, here is the deal. I ordered a 2005 GT back in December of 2004. After waiting until May of '05, the wife got tired of waiting and canceled the order. She bought herself a (gulp) Camry. Now, a couple of years are nearly passed and the subject has come up again — I've never given up on getting one of these 'Stangs. The wife says now, once she found out that the 2009 Mustang will NOT look like the current version, we had maybe get one before this current style goes away. Of course, I am now excited about finally getting one, though it could still be a year or two away. I had to make concessions: she wants me to get silver, an automatic and no spoiler. I am insisting on leather (do they still have a Premium interior option?) and hopefully Ford will still carry the Bullitt style wheels.

My big question: Does anyone know how much the next generation, due out in 2009 (I think), will change from the current beautiful style? I've read where Ford will add the "hip" curve to the top of the fender, right behind the door, ala 1967 - 68.

Can anyone tell us anything? If the change is radical enough, we may be purchasing a new Stang within the next couple of years.

Also, do many of the early run problems seem to be getting better? That is a big deal with her. My '89 GT was in the shop a lot the first year we owned her.

Thanks for any answers...

Ford is notorious for keeping their products the same for too long and this one is actually selling so I wouldn't expect any big changes.

Lets hope the car stays basically the same. However, since the wife doesn't follow the auto industry as we all do, it really doesn't hurt for her to think the next Mustang will be different from the current version. Maybe we can speed up the procurement process a bit!!!

I usaully get these frontline mags from ford. They really have not done anything to change the current body style. Right know they are more in tuned with trying to upgrade the one know. So i would just be really looking for new upgrades on the mustangs. Just my 2 cents
