WOW!! You're cousin is one lucky guy there 1quick6!!
You know, maybe if I saw one up close I would be more impressed. For $45,000 I would expect more. A 6.0 producing 400 hp.... seems like Chevy could've gotten more out of it. I don't know, maybe if I could actually afford one I would think differently about it.

??? GM did it all motor, no power adder. The more cubes they use the easier it is to attain that kind of HP.
You also have to look at things differently these days. The performance car buyers will NOT settle with what happened in the 73-85 era again. Smog & gas ruined everything, brought HP numbers way down... GM isn't going to roll off a base production Corvette making 600hp right now. It'll be another 10-15 years before you see that happening, if it ever does. Don't forget how light the Corvette it. GM doesn't sell Corvettes simply for performance minded people. Many 50-60 year old men & younger women drive these cars just because they love the looks and attention & could give a flying f'ck about it's HP. Gotta keep the car controllable..

I never said I wasn't impressed... I said that if I saw one up close I would be more impressed. Make no mistake, if I had the means to get one I wouldn't think twice about it. And I agree that most 50 - 60 year old men and younger women couldn't give a flying f'ck about it's HP. And if that's GM's target audience for the Corvette then that's fine. And keep in mind too that the Cobra in the couple of years before it was supercharged was putting out 320 easily with the DOHC 4.6.... all engine.

RE: C6's are in!!!
I went to the Chevy dealership here a little while back when they got their first C6 in, and I loved it. They had all the C5's lined up behind it, and i loooked so much sicker. They let me start it up, and damn it is nice...but i still lovge my mustang, lol.
