It doesn't matter what oldcars do. The only thing in a Chevy showroom that can spank anything is a Vette. Who has $60000+ to spend. I'd take 2 GT's than a Vette anyday. I had a 69 Vette a long time ago. Sure it was fast once I put in a 400hp motor. But when I went to do a brake job I crapped. $55 each half of a caliper. And that was 30 years ago. Who know what prices are now. Anyway my Mustangs have been far more reliable.

You can buy used C6's all day long for $35K. Still more than a new GT, but a much better value than buying one new. I get your point though.

You are dumb lol
There were no 2003+ LS1's, etc, and he was asking what years are faster.
So 1994-2002 = LS1
And 2003-2007 = GT

dude there is no way a 2003+ mustang would beat a LS1 F-body. dont be retarded. both decent drivers the f-body should win every time. but LT-1 would get spanked by a 2003+ mustang. and the LS2 f-body would absolutely waste a 2003+ mustang because its the same corvette engine and would beat a corvette if vettes werent so efficient at getting power to the ground. only 6% loss on vettes 20% loss for F-bodies from flywheel to ground

Being a Mustang fan, I would have to go with the GTO for an all stock for stock, 2004 vs. 2004. He said GT, not Cobra or Mach 1, so I'm fairly certain an 04 Goat would own the Mustang. My mom has an 06 GTO, and it walks all over ****, so I imagine even with the 50 hp decrease it would probably do well.
Not sure on the weights, but you can look them up if it really bothers you. I'm going off of hp 350 > 260.

04 GT: curb weight 3317 lbs-------260hp
I'd still have to give it to the GTO despite the weight disadvantage. No SN95 was ever faster than an LSX powered car in stock form. A stock LS1 Goat would have more than its hands full trying to outrun a stockS197 GT though. But then the LS2 just puts the GTO back on top.

Just becauseI have a Camaro that meansI can't get on a mustang forum and ask a question? The question, just to clear things up was LS1 Camaro98-02 VS. Mustang GT 99-UP. I'm sorry to confuse anyone i'll admit it was worded dumb. And just so you know a Camaro with minor bolt-ons can own an LS2 GTO they are really heavy.

+1 on the LS2 GTO's. Much like the 03/04 Cobras, there seems to be a lack of drivers out there that know how to get good numbers out of them on the track. Heavy car + high HP + IRS + small tires = nightmare launch consistancy.
