mustang fever

I just ordered a new 08 gt/cs vista blue with all the upgrades and the shaker 1K. I am having a local paint shop paint on some custom stripes and other custom ideas to help set my mustang apart from all the others out there. I have a question on the oil. At my first oil change I would like to use the synthetic Mobile 1 5-30. Should I wait until a specified milage before changing over, or can I do it at 5,000 mi.? Also, if I add the shaker air system to my engine, will my stock gt hood (with factory scoop) work? I have heard that the shaker kit will not cover the holes that the factory hood scoop needed to attach. Should I buy a shaker hood? I can't stand the thought of cutting a hole in the hood of my new $30+ mustang.

You will have no problems with switching over at your first oil change. The motor is good and broken in by then. I have always started using synthetics in all of my new vehicles at the first oil change with no problems. I would caution, that you use the weight specified by Ford.
